Letter of Introduction:

As a therapist my job is to reach out my hand (metaphorically speaking) and help our patients get on their feet. I do this by developing a safe collaborative relationship and by recognizing our common humanity. It has been an honor to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and challenges in life and I look forward to helping our patients at University Medical Specialties.

It takes courage to reach out for help. At times we all need support. As a therapist my job is to reach out my hand and to help you get on your feet.

I began working as a counselor at University Medical Specialties in 2015 and I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology. I see psychotherapy as a partnership between the therapist and the patient and I believe that healing occurs within the context of a healthy therapeutic relationship.

When we meet, our first task will be to determine where you are now and how you got there. That means I will ask about your current symptoms along with your history. From there I’ll make a provisional diagnosis and we’ll work collaboratively to set goals and create a treatment plan so that we can address the challenges you’re facing.

I look forward to getting to know you and undertaking this journey together.
